Our Story

The story behind SimplyChina

We're a small bilingual team helping foreigners feel more capable, less lost, and more at home in China.

Why We Built This

We kept seeing the same problem: people moving to China could find plenty of scattered advice, but very little of it felt current, trustworthy, or made for everyday decisions. One page would explain visas badly, another would give tourist tips, and almost nothing connected daily life, language, work, and culture in one place.

SimplyChina exists to close that gap. We want foreigners to have a calmer, clearer starting point for the things that actually matter: apartments, payments, food, business etiquette, useful Chinese, and the small details that make life in China easier to navigate.

The goal is not to romanticize China or overwhelm people with theory. It is to make China feel more legible, more practical, and more human.
